Inexperience or discomfort with computer technology

Online counselling is appropriate for people who can:
  • Comfortably operate a computer and navigate the Internet;
  • Solve minor problems that might be encountered while using the computer or Internet; and
  • Comfortably and regularly use email and its associated features, such as attaching and opening files, cutting and pasting text, etc.

If you are new to computers or the Internet, or if you are uncomfortable with computer technology, you might prefer  to receive services from a face-to-face counsellor instead.

The following resources may assist you in locating a counsellor, therapist, or psychologist in your area:
  • A listing of all Provincial and Territorial Associations of Psychology in Canada
  • Canadian Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology - Referral List
